Formatting Manuscript Page Numbers Using Windows 3.1 Word Perfect version 6.0
 

Page numbers are usually placed at the top or bottom of each page of the manuscript, either in the center or right side of the page.

  • Open your manuscript, place the cursor to the left of the manuscript title.
  • Click on LAYOUT in the tool bar and select PAGE, NUMBERING, as shown here:

  • This opens the PAGE NUMBERING tool on top of the page.

  • Select the position where you want the page number to appear by clicking on the POSITION button.
  • Click OK.
  • Click on OPTION to add more features to the page number. This will open the PAGE NUMBERING OPTION page, as shown in the following example:

  • Place the cursor to the left of [Page #] in the NUMBER TYPE: FORMAT AND ACCOMPANYING TEXT. Type your name, followed by "et al., Page <space>", as shown in the above example.
  • Click OK.
  • You can change the font by clicking on the FONT button. Otherwise, click OK.
